Ruth Clark Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, Dowds Chapel on Apr. 15, 2025.
Ruth Marion Eisler Clark, 95, of Mount Vernon, passed away at home on April 7, 2025. She was born on March 22, 1930, in Butler, Pennsylvania to Walter and Olive Eisler. She was the youngest of three children and grew up surrounded by cousins, aunts, and uncles on Broad Street in her hometown. Ruth attended Grove City College where she met her future husband Neil E. Clark and began a family in Grove City, Pennsylvania. Their five children were raised and attended school in Mount Vernon after Neil, employed by Cooper Bessemer, was transferred there in the early 1960s. After Neil's retirement in the early 1980s, the couple moved to Indialantic, Florida where several of Ruth's cousins with whom she had grown up resided. She returned to Ohio recently to be closer to family. Ruth was known for her relentless curiosity and inquisitive wonder that would be the envy of any detective or newspaper reporter. She was happiest when she knew her five children, scattered across the country, were communicating or gathering for family events.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Neil and a grandson, Caleb Clark, her brother Walter "Bud" Eisler and her sister Martha McCrory.
Ruth is survived by her children Neil Edward (Ed) Clark of Mount Vernon, Ellen (Ric) Sheffield of Richmond, CA, Martha (Bart) Walker of Atlantic Highlands, NJ, Daniel (Lia) Clark of Bodega Bay, CA, and Michael Clark of Kingston, NY, along with eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Memorial services have yet to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Gentiva Hospice.
