Ruth Hyde Obituary
Mrs. Ruth Genevlyn Lackey Hyde, age 85 passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024 at her residence in Summerville, Ga.
Mrs. Hyde was born on Dec. 23, 1938 to the late John Melvin Lackey and Nola Hensley Lackey. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Hyde, her son, Jimmy Cox, a brother, Billy Jack Hensley and two granddaughters, Regina Leigh Carroll and Rebecca Roberson.
Ruth is survived by her son; Michael Cox and his wife, Elaine of Florida. Two daughters; Kathy Hodge of Florida and Debbie Whaley and her husband, Terry of Summerville, Ga. Seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Ruth Genevlyn Hyde will be conducted on Saturday, Feb. 17th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Olive Church Cemetery in Rydal, Ga. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the funeral home of 2:00pm. Pallbearers include Shane and Nathan Cox, Ricky and Bryson Luffman, Austin Roberson, Matthew Adams, and Jimmy Cox, Jr.
