Ruth Ann Johnson

Ruth Ann (Herron) Johnson, aged 94, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on September 18th, 2025 at Rockland Place Retirement Community. Born in Chester, PA, on February 16th, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Mark Wayne and Mary Bertha (Hallman) Herron.

Ruth spent her early life in Wilmington, DE and was a proud 1949 graduate of Conrad High School. In her later years, she enjoyed bowling and golf and was a past member of the former Hercules Country Club. Music was always a part of her life whether it was playing the piano and organ, or singing in the church choir. She was an active member of the Edenridge Civic Association, member of the Mount Lebanon Methodist Church, and past president of the Canterbury Garden Club.

She is survived by her husband Richard, a son Kenneth, a daughter Karen (Kellogg), and grandchildren Zachary Kellogg and Allison Kellogg. She was preceded in death by her sister Carolyn (Erikson).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington DE at 4:00 pm on Friday, September 26th 2025. The following morning at 12:00 pm, a private service and interment for family will be held graveside at Kemblesville United Methodist Church in Kemblesville, PA.
