Ruth Lycke, 66, of Marshalltown, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at her home.

A Memorial service held by the family will be on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Iowa River Church of the Brethren in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Ruth Davis was born on May 18, 1959 in Marshalltown. She was the daughter of Roy and Elizabeth (Wilson) Davis. Ruth graduated from Green Mountain High School in 1977 and then went on to obtain her nursing degree. Ruth served her country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1984 until 1991. On December 27, 1986, Ruth was united in marriage to Steve Lycke at the Cape Hart Church in Bellevue, Nebraska. Ruth had previously been a nurse as well as a public speaker. She was a member of the GM Alumni and the Soroptimists. Ruth enjoyed gardening and socializing with her friends on a daily basis. In 2003, after Ruth got sick, she traveled to China to receive traditional Chinese medical treatment. That treatment was successful and Ruth was instrumental in helping take other people to China to receive those treatments as well.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 39 years: Steve; children: David (Stephanie) Lycke of Gilbertville, Roy (Gina) Lycke of Houston, Texas and Elizabeth (Phil) Goodman of Kansas City, Missouri. She is also survived by her grandchildren: James, Sylvia, Sebastian and one on the way; siblings: Rose Mary Meling of Garwin, Mary Reimers of Cape Fair, Missouri and James Hardacre of Ames along with adopted siblings: Marilyn, Carol and Sandy.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents: Roy and Elizabeth; half-brothers: Roy and Ray; adopted sister: Peg; brother-in-law: John Reimers and sister-in-law: Kristy Hardacre.
