Michael J. Bennett, age 81, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 17, 2025 at Accura Healthcare of Marshalltown under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

Michael James Bennett was born March 7, 1944 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was born to parents Leslie and Regina (Smith) Bennett and had one brother. Michael attended school in Marshalltown and graduated Marshalltown High School. While attending high school, Michael took place in the orchestra and played violin. He furthered his education following high school.
While Michael never married his life was full of love and filled with family. He was very intellectual studying various languages including Latin and Italian. He kept his mind sharp by playing cribbage with others and spending hours playing the acoustic guitar. Growing up his mother had a Samoyed dog King whom he loved and was always fond to spend time with. Additionally, he loved to spend time in nature and watch all of the birds and other wildlife.
Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his two loving nieces, Melaina Boyd and Charmaine VanAcker both of Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Regina Bennett; his brother, Leslie William Bennett; and his grandparents, Bill and Ann Smith.
