Ruth Kathleen Richard passed away December 1, 2025 at the age of 98.
She was born in Dover, Ohio on July 20, 1927, daughter of Pearl and Clinton Marburger. She met the love of her life, Jack J. (JJ) Richard in 1947, at a party shortly after he returned from the war. They married 2 years later, in 1949. Since Jack worked on a geologic seismic crew in the early years, they lived in a small Airstream trailer, traveling to many “exoctic” locations throughout the US. During their travels, she had 4 children in 4 years, each born in a different location, such as Magnolia, AK, Roosevelt, UT, Glendive, MT, and Minot, ND.
Shortly after moving to Denver in 1969, Jack ended his geophysical career with Texaco and started his own geophysical consulting business with Ruth working by his side. They worked side by side for next 42 years. She and Jack built their dream house on 40 acres in the mountains near Conifer and hosted many family gatherings there over the years.
She is survived by her children, Peggy Brooker (John); Michael Richard (RexAnn); James Richard (Karen); Patricia Price; grandchildren: David Garwood and Jennifer Garwood, Thomas Richard and Tina Richard and 3 great-grandchildren.
