She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Howard Spungen and siblings Alvin and Janet.
She will be deeply missed by her three children Susan, Steven, and Michael as well as four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Ruth had a love of opera, tennis, walking on Siesta Beach, and she was ahead of her time with nutrition and quality ingredients.
The family wants to acknowledge the years of loving care provided by New Horizons Assisted Living and recently VITAS Hospice.
