Ruth Jane Wenger (Rafeld), age, 95, of Louisville, Ohio, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022. She was born In Newcomerstown, Ohio to the late Max and Zelda (Brubaker) Rafeld. Ruth married Kenneth Eugene Wenger on March 6, 1948, in the Werner Church in Middlebranch, Ohio. She was a member of the Canton Baptist Temple. Ruth retired as a hairdresser from Nist Home, worked at the church Camp CHOF and at the Stark County Fair. She enjoyed family activities, especially with the grandchildren. Ruth was most famous for her apple fritters, candy cupboard and outdoor hobo parties.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 74 years, Kenneth; children, Gerald Wenger (deceased) (Debbie Wenger Hunter), Dennis (Cathy) Wenger, Janet (Jerry Deceased) Runner, Joyce Sheaffer; 11 grandchildren, Jeff Wenger, Katie Rader, Laura Carmany, Lisa Wassenaar, Julie DeLaFe, Jennifer Burkholder, Joshua Runner, Dan Sheaffer, Scott Sheaffer, Jon Sheaffer, Beth White and 26 great grandchildren and one deceased great grandchild.
Funeral service will be 1:00pm Friday, May 6, 2022 in the Canton Baptist Temple with Pastor Jake Tovissi officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service in church. Interment will be in Henry Warstler Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Camp CHOF at Canton Baptist Temple 515 Whipple Ave. NW, Canton, Ohio 44708. Please sign the tribute page.
