Sadie Arbeta Moss, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at her home in Nebo, North Carolina, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 31, 1945, in Asheville, North Carolina, Sadie lived a life marked by her unwavering love for her family and the profound impact she had on all who knew her.

She shared nearly 60 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Lance Blaine Moss, whom she married on December 3, 1965. Together, they nurtured a close-knit family, raising their children: Lance Moss, Jr. and his wife Jean, Donna Babb and her husband Dago, Jerry Moss and his wife Serena, and Carolyn Shipman and her husband Jimmy. Sadie’s legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Allison, Stephanie, Amber, Kasey, and Elizabeth, as well as her great-grandchildren: Aryana, Summer, Liam, Billy, Lillian, Brantley, Hudson, and Dawson. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit and love.

Sadie is also survived by her sister, Betty Muse, and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom will miss her kind heart and gentle nature.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Josiah Sams and Sadie Elizabeth Ellison Sams; as well as her sisters: Pauline Sams, Elizabeth "Louise" Owens, Irene Sams, Joann Whitson, and Tommy Lunsford. Their memories will remain forever intertwined with hers, reflecting the close bonds of family that she held so dear.

Sadie was known for her warmth, compassion, and her ability to bring people together. She was a great wife, mother, and grandmother, whose love knew no bounds. Her family and friends will remember her not only for her nurturing nature but also for the joy and laughter she brought into their lives.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:30 PM, both taking place in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, located at 1428 Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC. Interment will follow at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 PM.

As we gather to honor Sadie's remarkable life, we celebrate the legacy of love she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
