Sadie Pleasant

Sadie Marshburn Pleasant, 86, passed away on November 9, 2025. She was born July 23, 1939, in Wake County, NC, to the late George Elmo and Fleeder Vaughan Marshburn. Professionally, Sadie worked as a valued auditor and manager for the NC Dept. of Revenue. Sadie made many meaningful and lasting friendships as well as countless memories with her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin M. Pleasant; son, Michael Pleasant; daughter, Michele Pleasant Freeman, brother Stanley Marshburn, and sister-in-law Gene Marshburn.

Sadie is survived by daughter, Lisa Pleasant Price; son, Thomas Wayne Pleasant (Simona); son-in-law Rickey Freeman; grandchildren, Melissa Groves (Matthew), Nicholas Kent Freeman (Melissa), Helen Ferguson (Trey), and Kylie Price; great-grandchildren Kierin and Aven Stone, Tatum Groves, Cooper Freeman, Angel and Sophia Abruzese, and Lawrence Ferguson IV; brothers Bruce, Larry (Lois), Keith, Robert (Debbie), Kirby (Teresa), sister Ella Mason (Richard), and many nieces and nephews.

Sadie was a faithful servant of Christ at Central Baptist Church, teaching and serving on many committees.

A visitation will be held from 12:30 – 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Hephzibah Baptist Church, 1794 Wendell Blvd., Wendell, NC 27591. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will be private.
