Sally Bugge Obituary
March 11, 1936 - July 8, 2025
Sally Mae Bugge, age 89, of Council Bluffs, passed away peacefully at Northcrest Living Center on Tuesday morning, July 8, 2025.
She was born March 11, 1936, in Harlan, Iowa to Ottis and Iva Gearhart, whom preceded her in death. She married Gene Bugge on August 14, 1955 and enjoyed 52 years of marriage before his passing in 2007. She was a teacher's associate for the preschool system at Broadway United Methodist Church for 25 years and then the Council Bluffs Community School District for 15 years. She enjoyed and loved working with Children. Sally was a longtime member of Timothy Lutheran Church. While a member there she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School.
Sally is survived by her daughter, Deborah and husband John Wiggs of Greenville, TX and son, Duane Bugge of Bellevue, NE. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Charity and husband Nick Rotolo, Chad Bugge, Brittany and husband Jonathan VanderWal, Kyle Bugge and Keith Bugge. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Trinity, Vincent, Mary, Logan and Nora. Sally is also survived by her sisters, Carolyn Cloyd and Linda Watson; brothers, Roger (Judy) Gearhart, Bill Gearhart, Jim (Kathy) Gearhart; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Dale Bugge; sisters, Shirley Jensen, Beverly Gearhart, Mary Cundall, Sharon Martinson; and brothers, Daryl, Jerry, Ronnie, and Tom Gearhart.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, July 10, 2025. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, July 11, 2025. Interment is in Ridgewood Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
