Sarah “Sally” Margaret (Klingensmith) Marks, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2024, at the age of 89 with her family by her side. Sally was born on October 19, 1935, to her mother Blanche Elizabeth (Downing) Klingensmith and her father Burghan Lloyd Klingensmith in Pennsylvania.
Sally was a registered nurse, specializing in intensive and coronary care for 33 years. She retired in the late 90’s and moved to Texas to be closer to family. She was an avid gardener who really enjoyed the time she spent outdoors. The gardens she created were always beautiful and told a story. Sally was a wonderful cook and loved to try new recipes for family get-togethers. She always enjoyed including her grandchildren in preparing the dishes. In her spare time, Sally loved to paint. The walls of her house were decorated with her canvases. Sally was the center of her family with a great sense of humor that will truly be missed. She loved her family dearly and had a special bond with them. The connections she had with her children and grandchildren will always be cherished and never forgotten.
Sally was preceded in death by her father, Burghan Lloyd Klingensmith; her mother, Blanche Elizabeth Klingensmith ; her brothers, Lloyd Klingensmith Jr., Sam Klingensmith, Jim Klingensmith, and Glenn Klingensmith; her daughters Marcia Montgomery and Stephanie Johnson; and her grandson Richard Aaron.
Sally is survived by her sister, Jerri Dry; sister-in law, Margaret (Peggy) Klingensmith; son-in-law, Larry Johnson; children, Catherine Aaron, Tim Aaron, Cora Foust, and James Aaron; grandchildren, Catherine (Caullie) Aaron and her husband Benny Miles, Sarah Aguilera and her husband Michael Aguilera, Athena Wilson, Zachary Johnson and his wife Daniela Johnson, Dallas Johnston and her husband Brent Johnston, Michael Johnson, Adrian Aaron, Michelle Cantu-Brasi, Carol Irmer and her husband Marco Irmer, Christi Munoz, and Emily Chionis and her husband Michael Chionis; and great-grandchildren, Michael Dossett, Andrew Aaron, Abigail Johnson, Avery Johnston, Max Cantu, Jacob Irmer, Kaylee Irmer, Grady Chionis, and Alexia Chionis; and many nieces and nephews who loved her and will greatly miss her.
Funeral Services for Sally will be 1:00pm on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Marrs Jones Newby Funeral Home.
