Salvador Zavala Frutos

Salvador Zavala Frutos, age 70 of Sweetwater, passed away Thursday, September 29th, 2022 surrounded by his family and many loved ones. Salvador was born to the late Patricio Zavala and Carmen Frutos in the small town of La Calera, Guanajuato in Mexico. He immigrated to the United States in 1993 to create a better life for his family. Salvador worked landscaping in Avalon and production at Monterey Mushroom until he settled into a long-term career with the Wampler Farm Sausage Company.
Today, the Zavala Family has suffered a great loss of a genuine man. A husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many. Today, we are a family that will grow stronger together and learn to cherish the great memories we have of our father, Salvador Zavala Frutos.
Salvador is survived by his wife of 45 years, Angelina Garcia; Children and spouses, Roberto Zavala and Gabriela Gonzalez, Jose A. Zavala and Maribel Cornejo, all of Sweetwater, Norma Zavala and Miguel Bedolla, Loudon, Jorge Zavala and Deisy Gonzalez, Jose M. Zavala and Lisa Vasquez, all of Sweetwater and Marco Zavala and fiancée, Haley McFaddin, Madisonville; numerous grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Almanza, Lenoir City, Alicia Zavala and Angelica Zavala, both of Mexico; brother, Rogelio Zavala, Loudon; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 3rd in the McGill Click Chapel from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. The family will observe an 11:00 AM Mass on Tuesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Julian Cardona officiating. An interment will follow in the Loudon County Memorial Gardens.
