Salvatore Marrazzo Jr., age 69, a beloved figure of Newton Massachusetts, sadly left our world on Wednesday May 15th, 2024, after a life richly lived in kindness and joy. Known for his love of his family and friends, his strong entrepreneurial spirit, his sharp mind and wit, Sal was also an incredible handyman and builder and a talented chef. Sal was a man of many talents. He was a beacon of light and hope in our community, touching lives through his worldly travels and stories.

Sal is one of thirteen brothers and sisters, a big family with even bigger hearts.

Sal's old friends from high school know his by the perhaps infamous name "Juice."

Some know Sal as a mechanic where he spent many years owning a garage and building relationships that last to this day.

Many know Sal as the owner and operator of the Boston I store, a pillar in the Newton community. This family-owned grocery store, sub shop, deli and later soft serve ice cream counter touched the lives of all those that were lucky enough to step foot in the place. His family worked with him at this store and helped create a deep sense of community.

Sal used his talents as a handyman to build a paradise for himself and his family in his back yard. He never stopped using his talents, even on his last days he could be seen driving his Lexus as the independent spirit he truly was.

In his later years Sal worked as a private chauffeur to provide for his family where he built more lasting friendships. His knowledge of the Boston area and beyond made him a living GPS.

Perhaps Sal's most important name was Papa. Sal cherished every moment he got to spend with his granddaughters, Emma and River.

This force of nature could never have enough chapters in his life. Nobody told Sal which direction in life to go, he forged his own path from the very beginning.

He is survived by his wife Karen and leaves a legacy through his daughter Kristin, son in law Jeff, son Michael, Sarah and granddaughters Emma and River. He will also be missed by his many brothers and sisters, brother-in-law Piero, sister-in-law Kathy, beloved nieces and nephews that he treated like his own children. Sal's memory will always be an incredible force of inspiration, love and especially laughter for all those who knew him. His impact on those he knew will make it impossible to be forgotten and beloved.

In remembrance, a gathering will take place on Sunday, the 19th of May 2024 at Andrew J Magni and Son Funeral Home 365 Watertown St, Newton, MA 02458 from 2-6pm, where we will honor Sal's enduring impact on our community and hearts.

Sal was one of a kind! Funny, savvvy, with a heart that exceeded his physical presence - which in itself was more than impressive - Johanna and I will always laugh when we remember Sal´s stories - he was THE BEST storyteller! And his cooking - Mannaggia - there are no words ... Sal and all he was will always be in our hearts looming as large there as he did in life ...Riposa in pace ....il Nostro amici!Johanna & Lorenzo Nastasi
