Samson Jay Fluck

Samson Jay Fluck, 16 of Beach Lake, died early Sunday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He is the son of Jason and Heather Fluck of Waymart and Bethany and Russ Fine of Beach Lake. Samson was a sophomore at Honesdale High School. He was a linebacker and tight end on the football team and catcher and utility player on the baseball team. Some of his happiest moments were when he was wearing #20 on his back. In addition to sports, Samson loved hunting in Canton, PA with his dad and brother and camping with his cousins and uncles.
In addition to his parents he is survived by four brothers, Rocco and Zane Fluck and Jake and Cam Fine. His grandparents Wendy Samson, Beach Lake, Barbara Fluck, Hellertown, and Kathleen and Bob Phillips, Waymart. Aunts and Uncles; Travis and Mary Samson, Tory and Kelsey Samson, Jason, Matt, and Tim Fine, Laura Liparela, and Bobby Phillips. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James Fluck, Jerry Samson, and Russell and Mariclaire Fine of Pittston and his beloved Uncle, Jim Fluck, Hellertown. He had a special connection to his many cousins, aunts, and uncles. Samson loved the challenge of working for his uncle at Cole Excavating for the last several years, learning excavating and hard labor. Samson's plan after high school was to join the Army as either infantry or medic.
Samson did not have one friend group; he was friends and brothers with so many and he loved them all deeply. Samson touched many hearts as a camper and then a tent sergeant at God's Army Camp each summer since 2010. Samson always wanted to be around people. He spent many hours in the garage with his Dad and Rocco or in the workshop with his Pa. He loved swimming at his family cottage at Elk Lake. His two youngest brothers, Zane and Cam, made no secret that Samson was their favorite brother and Sam cherished daily snuggles with them. His 13 year old brother Jake looked up to him, but probably never knew that Samson admired him too, for his many talents.
Although they were only 15 months apart, from the time he was born, Samson looked up to his brother, Rocco. They were inseparable. They played catch together every single day, which is the secret to their success as tight ends. They were not Rocco and Samson. They were Rocco Sam; one unit.
Samson loved watching the same classic movies over and over and was known to interject perfectly timed movie and song quotes into conversations.
Samson will be remembered for his smile, his strength, and his sense of humor. He had enough personality for a whole lifetime. He was a lifelong believer in The Lord Jesus Christ and our families have peace knowing he is in Heaven. We are strengthened by the overwhelming outpouring of support and love for our sweet Sammy Jay.

Samson always looked out for littler guys when they needed it and would have been so honored to bring kindness to him.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 12th at the Honesdale Readiness Center (Lemnitzer Armory) 232 Tryon St. Honesdale, PA at 11 am. A viewing will be held on Friday, 4 to 8 and Saturday, 10 until the time of service at the Honesdale Readiness Center. Arrangements by Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale.
