Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vander Plaat Funeral Home - Wyckoff on Mar. 3, 2025.
Samuel Aviles, age 63, of Midland Park, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Samuel was a man of unwavering dedication, working hard his entire life and taking pride in the fact that he never took a sick day unless absolutely necessary. A true family man, he was always there for those he loved, offering advice, sharing laughter, and making every gathering special. Saturday nights were his favorite, as he brought the family together for karaoke, owning multiple systems to ensure everyone had a song to sing-no matter the genre. He was also a devoted Mets fan, rarely missing a game, and had a deep appreciation for American history, spending countless hours watching documentaries and reading books on the subject. His ability to recall important dates-anniversaries, birthdays, and even those unrelated to his own family-was nothing short of remarkable.
Samuel's presence was the glue that held family moments together, from vacations filled with storytelling to weekends and holidays spent laughing over karaoke. His quick wit and teasing nature made him beloved by all, and if you ever did something foolish, you could count on him to call you a "Momo head" with a grin. He had a well-known sweet tooth, always eager for a good pastry or cake.
Above all, Samuel was the person everyone turned to for guidance, wisdom, and a good story. His kindness, humor, and warmth will be forever missed by his loved ones.
He is survived by his dedicated wife, Haydee; his children, Daniel (Lais) Aviles and Vernice Caraballo; his four grandchildren, Selena, Ciara, Kelsey Caraballo, and Peyton Toro; his mother, Amelia; and his sibling Roberto.
He will also be deeply missed by his beloved dog, Benji.
The family will receive friends on Thursday March 6, from 5p.m.-9p.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave.
Wyckoff, NJ.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated Friday March 7th, at 10 a.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Rosedale Rosehill Cemetery 365 East Linden Avenue in Linden, NJ.
