Samuel Newton Fisher, 81 a native of San Diego, CA and a resident of Madera for 45 years passed away May 21, 2025. He served his country in the US Army in Vietnam for two tours. Sam retired from the Army as Lt. Colonel and was a life member of VFW Post 1981 in Madera. Sam received his master's degree and taught Agriculture, Math, and was the Director of Technology at Madera High School.
He was a classic car enthusiast and a member of the Pontiac of Central California Club and enjoyed sharing his GTO Judge with all who would stop and admire his passion from the past.
Sam is survived by his mother Kit Fisher, his wife of 20 years, Elaine Fisher of Madera, two daughters, Victoria Cantu and her husband Geno of Madera and Laura Nunn of Madera, two stepsons: Brian Davi and his wife Erika of Clovis and Bruce Davi and his wife Randi of Madera. Sam leaves behind his siblings Danny Fisher and Tami of TX, Larry Fisher of Madera, Barbara Howell of Fresno, and Pam Buum of the Los Angeles Basin, twelve grandchildren: Geno, Xavier, Aurora, Aaden, Ella, Austin, Cole, Addison, Londen, Christian, Harper, and Hunter, along with is great granddaughter Lacy.
Visitation and viewing will be Monday, June 2, 2025, from 9am to 11:00 am at Jay Chapel. A Chapel service will begin at 11:00 am at Jay Chapel and burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Madera.
In Lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Parkinson's Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018 USA.
