Konstantin "Alex" Alexis Lobkowski of
Madera, California, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the age of 78, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in 1946 in Germany, Konstantin immigrated to the United States with his parents in 1950. In 1957, the family made Madera their permanent home, and Konstantin remained a proud Maderan up until the day he passed. He was a graduate of Madera High School (Class of 1964), a Fresno State alumnus, and a U.S. Army veteran.
For over 30 years, Konstantin worked as a stockbroker. In the early 1990s he combined his lifelong love of soccer with entrepreneurship by founding the California Community College Soccer Referee Association (CCCSRA). What began as a business quickly became a passion, and the referees he mentored became like family to him. Though retired from finance at the time of his death, he continued to run the CCCSRA.
Konstantin was known to his children as "Pop" and to his grandchildren as "Grandpa Alex" or "Papa Alex". With them he shared his passion for sports, skiing (he served at Badger Pass on the National Ski Patrol for 25 years), and music. His family fondly remembers boating days on Bass Lake, his infectious laugh, his ever-present hats, and his love for ABBA. To others who knew him they would describe him as a true character, with strong principles, deeply loving, and never afraid to take a stand for what he believed in.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alexis and Helene Lobkowski, and his brother, Vladimir Lobkowski. He is survived by his son Gregory Lobkowski; son Nicholas Lobkowski (partner Katherine Brand and children Regan and Sloan Lobkowski, and Conner Brand); daughter Tatiana Partain (husband Steve and children Mackenzie and Cadence Partain); and his longtime partner, Sherry Deardorf.
Konstantin's impact on his community, family, and friends will not be forgotten. His spirit lives on in the lives of all who loved him.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Arbor Vitae Cemetery, 1301 Roberts Avenue,
Madera, California.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who has offered support during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Konstantin's memory to his beloved church, St. Seraphim Church (P.O. Box 1003, Seaside, CA 93955), or online at https://stseraphims.org/donation/. St. Seraphim's was his home away from home, and it held a special place in his heart.
