Samuel "Sammy" H. Ham Sr., 82, of Columbia, SC passed away on March 27, 2025.
He was a huge Gamecock fan. He enjoyed sports all throughout his life, such as bowling, softball, and shooting pool. He was an avid gardener, tending to all of his vegetables each and every year. Sammy was dedicated to his church, Gantt Street Baptist Church. He loved his dogs Annie, Mini, and Maddie. From 1973 - 1979, he was a Freemason member. In 1978, he became a Master Mason.
He is survived by daughter, Sherry (Mark); son, Samuel; granddaughters, Haley and Logan (Trey); great grandchildren, Beckham, Hadley, and Palmer; brothers, Bill (Kaye) and Grady; sisters, Jean, Nancy, and Elsie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Theresa; daughter, Janine; father, Alton Pete Ham; mother, Thelma Ham; and brother, Jerry.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 3 at 2pm at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. A visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will be private for family only.

My sympathy to all the family as I know he will be greatly missed. I am glad that I was able to visit with him on Tuesday. Jean is one of my greatest friends and I know how much she loves her family. Bless you all with wonderful memories.
