Samuel Hendrix Kiger (Oct 16, 1992-October 15, 2024) Sam - passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at the age of 31. The family surrounds all who are grieving with our love and prayers, recognizing that all of us are hurting in the wake of this untimely loss. Immediate family members surviving Sam are father Glenn Kiger, mother Mary Kiger, twin brother Will Kiger, and brothers Thomas Kiger, John Crowe, and Christian Crowe.
Sam had a deep passion for farming and agriculture, reflecting his commitment to the land and community. He had recently purchased 5 acres of land to pursue this passion. He loved to cook and share food with friends and family. He was widely known for his legendary grilling skills and hot sauces. Sam found great pleasure in his work and colleagues at Creative Gardens, a food service company. His work allowed Sam to combine his love of cooking, gardening and people.
From a young age, he developed deep knowledge and broad skills in the things he enjoyed, including dog breeding and training. His two dogs, Pappy and Griselda were an unending source of pleasure and love for him. Sam was very athletic, and enjoyed watching and participating in sports. He was on championship football, and basketball teams with brother Will as a youth. Sam will always be remembered for his kindness, warmth, authenticity, and unwavering support for those around him. When he wasn't supporting friends he entertained them with his wicked sense of humor.
Sam's generous spirit, loving nature, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held on November 2, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Woodmont Christian Church (3601 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, TN) in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to the following GoFundMe at https://gofund.me/361e0fc6. At a later date, the family will establish a charity honoring Sam's love for animals and the environment.
The memorial service for Sam will be live-streamed at woodmontchristian.org/sam

My favorite memory was when Sam and me took a hike in Lompoc... we had the best conversations and he made sure I felt safe (I was afraid of wild animals). Sam was open arms, and let me stay at his place for over a month (when I worked in the area). He also sent me my doggo by plane, because he wanted the two of us to have the love we deserved love you forever, Sam!

There is so much love that your family has shared with others, may the love of others come back to you to comfort you now. My love.
