Samuel Jackson Rhodes, commonly known as "Junior", passed away peacefully at the age of 90. He knew that he was days away from turning 91 and was proud of it. Junior was a man who found joy in the simple things- fresh air, a well-tended garden, and a good ole "Pepsi Cola" in his hand.

Junior was a hardworking man who spent his life providing for his family. He worked for decades at Blue Mountain Industries, where he took pride in doing his job well and earning an honest living. He believed in earning his way through life and never shied away from doing what needed to be done to take care of those he loved. He had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether he was sitting on the porch for hours, tending to his garden or tinkering with cars and lawnmowers, he was happiest when his hands were busy and the sun was shining.

Junior also took great pride in his appearance. Even in his final days, he made sure he looked his best before leaving his room- never a hair out of place. That quiet strength, dignity, and attention to detail left a lasting impression on everyone around him.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the team at Attalla Health Care, the staff of the 3rd floor ICU at Gadsden Regional Medical Center and the compassionate professionals at SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice for their care and kindness during his final days.

Out of respect for Juniors wishes and the family's privacy, service arrangements will be held privately.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in St. Louis Missouri.
