Sandra "Mouse" Armbruster

Sandra "Mouse" Armbruster, age 70, of Leipsic, Delaware, passed away at her home on Saturday, July 13, 2024. She was born on April 30, 1954 in Wilmington, Delaware to Thomas and Grace (Davis) Barker.
She was a loving, loyal, and giving wife. More then I deserved. We met in 1986 through my sister. Never being apart from one another, we spent every night together for the first 30 years, until I had to travel for my job.
She was a great life coach, always convincing me to strive for better things, even turning my life around. All she wanted was to raise children, live in a small house and stay together till we were old and grey. All she asked of me was to love her forever, help pay the bills, and come home to her every night. She loved to laugh and was the loudest person in the room for as tiny as she was. She loved animals, especially her many cats. Mouse worked at Sambos Tavern for 33 years as the daytime cook.
Mouse always insisted on having a party every holiday without fail. Just to feed as many people as possible. She would also house, feed and nurse anyone that showed up at her door without hesitation, a lot of times not even asking me. Mouse was quite the handful, well past her 100 lbs stature. She was the epitome of a home-body. She would rather stay home then go on a vacation. The happiest I think I ever saw her was the day we married. It was a small justice of the peace service, but when I carried her through the front door I could tell it meant the world to her. She was so lovely and so proud it would bring tears to your eyes.
She was so simple and easy to please, so straight up, you knew what was on her mind. Not used to being grounded, this latest hip surgery took so much out of her; she struggled over our future. She certainly was one tough little lady. -Your loving husband, Bob.
A visitation will held on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 1 to 2 PM in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at S. Main Street in Smyrna. Memorial services will begin at 2 PM.
