Sandra K. Baldwin, 77, of Merrill, WI, passed away peacefully at her home while surrounded by her beloved family and under the care of Aspirus Hospice.
Sandra was born on April 12, 1948, in LaValle, WI, to Leonard and Joyce (Atkinson) Keller. She moved with her family to Waukegan, IL at an early age. Sandra graduated from Waukegan Township High School and worked various jobs eventually becoming a C.N.A. and while working at Highland Park Illinois Hospital, met and fell in love with her future husband Pete Baldwin. Sandra and Pete were married March 27, 1971, at Great Lakes Naval Base and eventually they moved to Wausau, WI and started a family having two wonderful daughters, Cynthia Lynn and Leah Ann.
Sandra loved all animals, domesticated or wild. She especially loved her tom cat, Jerry, and asked for him constantly as her health failed. Sandra loved fishing for Walleyes in the Northwoods and was an accomplished fisherwoman.
Sandra attended Northcentral Technical College obtaining and associate degree in Nursing. As a registered nurse, she worked at various medical institutions in the Wausau and Merrill areas until her retirement.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Joyce Keller; one sister, Cynthia Keller; and one brother, Thomas Keller. She is survived by her husband, Pete Baldwin of Merrill; two daughters, Cynthia Lynn (Dan) Grawien of Rib Mountain and Leah Ann (Gary) Johnson of Wausau; four grandchildren, Jordan and Jayden, and Kane and Jay. She is also survived by three sisters, Lennette (Joe) Caliendo of Round Lake Beach, IL, Susan Hank of Waxhaw, NC, and Terry (Steve) Hersom of San Diego, CA.
The family would like to thank Aspirus Hospice for their kind, compassionate, and professional guidance through this difficult journey.
The funeral service for Sandra will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Taylor-Stine-Waid Funeral & Cremation – 301 Eagle Dr., Merrill. Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Village of Maine, Marathon County. The visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the funeral home.
