It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Sandra Broussard on March 8, 2025. She was a devoted mother, wonderful daughter, loving sister, amazing aunt, great-aunt, and a dear friend to many. Sandra's greatest gift in life was her role as a mother. She poured her heart and soul into raising her children, offering them unwavering love, support, and guidance-truly her most cherished legacy.
Born on January 24, 1958, Sandra was the daughter of Nicolasa (Nico) Villafranca Galvan and Remigio (Kiko) Flores Galvan. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Nicole Danielle Broussard, and her dear mother-in-law, Peggy Broussard. Sandra leaves behind her loving son, Lee Thomas Broussard; Kelly Broussard, the father of her children; and her siblings, Sonya Galvan, Sheila Galvan–Clifford (Chuck), Michael Galvan, and Patrick Galvan, and sisters-in- law, Kriste Broussard (Michelle) and Karla Broussard. She is also survived by her nieces, Christina Galvan Thompson (Coleman), Zoe Galvan Montano (Ervin), and Zia Galvan; her nephew, Zachary Galvan; and her great-nieces and great-nephew, Lucy Nicole Thompson, Emma James Thompson, and Michael Hill Thompson.
Sandra began her career at Foley's and later spent over 30 years as an educator. Her passion for teaching was unmatched, and she dedicated her life to shaping young minds and inspiring the children in her care. Throughout her career, Sandra left a lasting impact on the schools she served, with countless students benefiting from her wisdom, patience, and dedication.
Sandra was a woman who embraced life with kindness, joy, and a playful spirit. She found happiness in the simplest of things-tending to her garden, hunting for treasures at garage sales, antiquing, and always enjoying a good movie. She loved holidays, especially when surrounded by her family. Sandra also had a special fondness for life's little indulgences-Beaver Nuggets, popcorn, Prosecco, and of course, frozen margaritas. Her infectious laughter, warmth, and generosity touched the hearts of all who knew her.
A devout Catholic, Sandra held her faith close to her heart. She will be deeply missed and will always remain in our hearts, forever remembered. As Nicole would often say, "Consider Yourself Hugged" (CYH).
Honored to serve as Sandra's pallbearers are Sonya, Sheila. Michael, Patrick, Chuck and Kelly.
A service to celebrate Sandra's life will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10205 North FM 620, Austin, Texas, 78726 on March 13th, 2025. Visitation will begin at 12:30p.m., followed by Mass at 1:30p.m. The Burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
Flowers should be delivered to St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
