Sandy grew up in South Portland then moved to Saco and later Biddeford where she resided for the past 25 years. She enjoyed working in her yard and planting and caring for her flowers. She had three children she raised by herself. Her daughter Diana Carter passed away in 1994 and her son Pete Carter passed in 2014. Her daughter Brenda Ouellette lives in Newport with her husband Henry Ouellette. Her granddaughter Dyanna Ouellette Price also lives in Newport with her two children Julian and Penelope Price and her husband.
Sandy was elated to be a grandmother and great grandmother. She worked in banking and insurance for many years and as an underwriter at Unum. She made her way on her own and under her own terms. She was the strongest person I've ever known.
Her visitation will be held Thursday 5/15 at Hope Memorial Chapel from 10am to 12pm with a graveside service following at Black Point Cemetery in Scarborough.
