Sandra Finateri, born on March 5, 1947, in Mount Vernon, NY, passed away peacefully at her home in Myrtle Beach, SC on February 10, 2025.
Sandra is predeceased by her parents in 1993 Dominick & Rose (Castaldo) Altieri.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Silvio; her sons, Robert (Lee Rudolph) Finateri, and Kevin (Melissa) Finateri; her grandchildren, Justin, Domenick, Chace, and Julianne; as well as her brother, Donald (Carolyn) Altieri.
After birth, Dobbs Ferry, NY soon became home. Graduating from Dobbs Ferry High School in 1963, she began her working career early on as a talented beautician before dedicating time to raise her family. Later, she embarked on a successful corporate career spanning two decades at Reader's Digest. Through hard work and determination, she rose from an entry level mail room position to becoming a top customer service manager, representing Readers Digest all across the country. Sandra also played a pivotal role in redefining the Reader's Digest Scholarship Program, now for trade students as well. Her dedication to that program ensured that many aspiring 2 year associate degree students received the same Readers Digest scholarship opportunities that a four year degree scholarship recipient benefited from. She was a true testament that if you put your mind to something you can accomplish anything.
So many lives were touched in so many ways, if she wasn't "wheeling, dealing and negotiating " for honesty, integrity, and what was supposed to be, she was supporting her sons and grandkids in all aspects of their lives, making every football game, baseball game, and celebrating their successes. She always made known that she was proud of them. Sandra's "no filter" attitude stood for honesty, tough love, love of life, love of her friends, and love of her family. If you were fortunate enough to have been a friend you were now "family."
Her "No quit" attitude, perseverance and generosity will be remembered by all who knew her.
May she Rest In Peace
We love you
