Sandra K. Guidry, Age 76, a resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, after a short battle with cancer.
In 1946, Sandra was born in Belzoni, Mississippi; the daughter of Mary and Sidney Ainsworth. Growing up in Memphis, TN in 1966 she married the love of her life, Kenneth Guidry and they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary last July. In 1979 they relocated to Mobile, AL where they would remain until her death.
After being a stay at home mom for many years she started driving a school bus for Mobile Christian, where her kids attended school, while also working at State Farm Insurance. After 30 years of service she retired from the University of South Alabama in 2016.
She was a loving wife, mother, MeMaw, sister and friend to many. She had a kind heart and found joy in caring for others. She did not meet a stranger: talking was her favorite pastime.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Kenneth W. "Butch" Guildry Of Mobile, AL. Son and daughter-in-law, B.J. and Tammy Guidry of Wilmer, AL; daughter Lauren Baker of Grand Bay, AL; 6 grandchildren: Brittany, Hannah, Darian, Haley, Collin and Garrett; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Joye Tapper of Olive Branch, MS; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 6040 Three Notch Road, Mobile, AL 36619 on Tuesday March 28, 2023 from 12:30 until 2:00. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 in the Chapel.

There's always a small group of people who make a differences in our lives outside of immediate family. Sandra was one of those people in my life. She made my life better as a person as well as a professional. I will miss her but will always have found memories of her kindness, her guidance, and the competence and professionalism she always displayed in everything she did. May she rest in peace.
