Sandra L Masse

Sandra Masse, age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25th, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 11, 1943, she was a lifelong resident of Schenectady. A devoted Catholic, Sandra was also an active member at Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
She was a caring and supportive mother to her three children and their spouses-son Donald Masse and his wife, Tricia Polman, daughter Doreen Snelling and husband Pete, and daughter Barb Devine and husband Sean.
She was a very proud grandmother to her five beautiful grandchildren: Nicholas Snelling, Zachery Snelling, Aidan Devine, Kaylie Masse, and Sean Golden and had a special bond with her niece Linda and her husband Jim.
Outside of church and family, Sandy loved to crochet and crafted beautiful blankets for friends and family. A crossword puzzle dynamo, she loved anything true crime and enjoyed the occasional vodka sour ("hold the fruit"). Strong and steadfast, she had a generosity of spirit and a quiet resilience that inspired those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Burdella Provost (Kromp) and her half-sister, Marge Hardy.
Visiting hours will be at Griswold Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, July 31st and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel on Friday, August 1st at 11:00am.
