Sandra Monje

Sandra Jean Monje, 82, of Fripp Island, SC, and Henrietta, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at her residence on Fripp Island. Services will be held at a later date in New York. Sandra was born on August 6, 1942, in Rochester, NY, the daughter of the late Henry and Mildred (Gillespie) Baur. She later married Eugene D. Monje on 9/5/64 in Rochester, NY. She was a proud graduate of Syracuse University '64 with a BS in nursing and worked as a RN critical care nurse at Strong Hospital and in later years substituted as a school nurse in the RH school district. She was a long time member of Wild Wood Country Club in Rush, NY and an original member of Wild Wood's "Ladies from Hell". She and husband Gene had been married for 60+ years. She was a loving wife, a caring mother and grandmother. She would always put others and their needs and wishes before her own. Survivors include: her husband: Eugene D. Monje; children: daughter, Deanette Monje and Brian Langlais, granddaughter Jen Miles, husband Brian, great grandchildren Jase, Carsyn, Sienna and Liliana, son Douglas Monje, wife Angela, granddaughters Lauren, Alyssa and Morgan; brother Warren Baur. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Crescent Hospice 2208 Mossy Oaks Road Port Royal, SC 29935.
