Sandra Norris Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beggs Funeral Home - Madison Chapel on Feb. 23, 2026.
Sandra Wynn Norris, 79, passed away peacefully at home in Madison, Florida, on February 21, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family after a lengthy illness, which she fought as she lived her entire life - with quiet bravery and grace.

Sandra was born October 28, 1946, in Tampa, Florida, to J.L. (Jack) Wynn and Velma Roberts Wynn. After living the earliest years of her life in Pearson, Georgia, her parents bought a farm in Madison, which she loved. She graduated from Madison County High School in 1964 and moved to Quitman, Georgia until returning to the family farm in 1972.

As a genealogist, she spent countless hours researching all lines of her family's history well before and after the existence of convenient internet tools. Family vacations often included trips to libraries, courthouses, and cemeteries in hopes of tracing ancestors and filling in more family trees. She spent so many hours at Elmer's Genealogy Library, the founder hired her and she was able to guide many individuals in their own searches. She continued to enjoy her curiosity of history, and volunteered to help individuals and groups with their searches well after her retirement. Sandra also worked as a dietary manager at Senior Citizens Council of Madison.

Sandra enjoyed many hobbies and took joy in working in the yard, being a master homemaker, crafting, cross stitching, and clogging with Kountry Kickers and leading children's church in earlier years.

Sandra is survived by her devoted husband Johnny Norris, children Tim (Donna) Bass of Live Oak, Lori of Madison, Tracy (Michael) Barnes of Moultrie, Georgia, and April (Jason) Spicer of Madison; grandchildren Levi Bass, Trevor (Nicole) Lister, Ricky (Amelia) Spicer, Garrett (Vonya) Barnes, Mandy (Noah) Moore, Waylon Spicer, Emilee Spicer; great-grandchildren Bailey, Hollan, Kylie, Conner, and Garrett; brother Melvin Wynn, sisters-in-law Lavonne Wynn, Linda Wynn, and Louise Morgan; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friend and neighbor Christine Peters; and Charles Bass, father of Tim and Lori.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers John M., David, and Richard, sister Carolyn, and beloved fur baby Max, who could not enjoy a meal or drink unless his human mommy loved on him and who passed only months before her.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Harmony Baptist Church, Cherry Lake, Florida, with Bro. Michael Barnes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Sweet Sandra, Sandy, Sis, Memaw, will be dearly missed.

Condolences may be shared at beggsfuneral.com. Beggs Funeral Home Madison Chapel (850) 973-2258.
