Sandi Hayes Passafiume Beloved Mother, Devoted Wife, Spirited Friend
Sandi Hayes Passafiume, a cherished mother, loving wife, and radiant presence in every room she entered, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025 surrounded by family and love. Her boundless energy, warm heart, and unmistakable spark made her unforgettable to all who knew her.
Known for her spunky personality and outgoing nature, Sandy brought joy and laughter wherever she went. She had a true gift for making connections-whether with lifelong friends or brand new acquaintances-and her circle of love only ever grew.
A passionate reader of mystery novels, Sandi had an adventurous spirit that shone through in her hobbies and home. Inspired by her favorite home improvement TV shows, she could often be found knee-deep in a DIY decorating project or happily tending to her garden. Her creativity transformed her home into a place of beauty, comfort, and pride.
Sandi was also a longtime and dedicated member of the American Turners of Louisville, the city's oldest sports and social club. It was a perfect match for her love of people, community, and camaraderie. She thrived in any social setting, sharing stories, laughter, and genuine kindness.
She will be warmly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: her loving husband, Tony Passafiume; daughters, Debbie Jones (Norman) and Kat Steinhauer; brother, Joe Sterner; and step-sons, Bart, Anthony (Vicky), Deny, and Pat. Also, sharing in her legacy are many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sandi was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Belva Sterner; brothers, Eddie and John; sister, Mary; and step-son, Chris Passafiume.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from the Chapel of Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Rd. 40218. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21 from 4 PM until 8 PM at the Funeral Home.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and inspiration. Sandy was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched with her bright spirit and open heart.
