Sandra Volk Purnell

Sandra Volk Purnell, 87, of Horseshoe Bay, formerly of Dickinson, passed away at her home October 23, 2022. Sandra was born July 8, 1935 to in Chester, Pennsylvania. She retired from Methodist Hospital following many years of service in business administration and was a loyal member of Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Christopher Joseph and Estella Florence Volk.
Sandra leaves behind to cherish her memory her companion Gilbert Sosa; sons Dennis Purnell and wife Lisa, Kevin Purnell, and Michael Purnell and wife Carolyn; many grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
In her honor there will be a rosary, 10:00 am, with a funeral mass at 10:30 am Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Shrine of the True Cross Catholic Church, Dickinson, Father Larry Wilson presiding. Committal service will follow at Galveston Memorial Park, Hitchcock. Services under the direction of Crowder Funeral Home Dickinson.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Steve Sharp, Joe Allen Villarreal, Josh Sosa, Noah Sharp, Jonah Sharp, and Scott Sosa. Honorary pallbearer Gilbert Villarreal.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
