Sandy Sue Meadows, 65, of Elkton, went to be with the Lord in Heaven Sunday, June 8, 2025. Ms. Meadows was born June 8, 1960 in Harrisonburg, Va and was the daughter of the late Connie Ashenfelter and Gilbert Shaver. She was adopted and raised by the late Maggie Virginia Merica.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronnie Lee Morris and Calvin Ray Shifflett.
Sandy worked at Genie & Co. for 18 years before retiring. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Family was very important to Sandy. Her grandchildren were the center of her world. She loved being outside; camping and rides on Skyline Drive. Visits with family and friends the last few months brought her so much joy. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Sandy is survived by her son, Dwayne Meadows and wife, Rachel; companion, Bob Robinson; grandchildren, Makenna Meadows, Hunter Meadows and Christopher Meadows; brothers, Danny Shaver and Ray Shaver; sisters, Judy Lowery, Kay Nelms; special friend, Betty Monger and her beloved pets, Heidi and Snowball.
A Funeral Service will be conducted 2 p.m., Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with Pastor Carter Dean officiating. Burial to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg. Casket will be closed.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at the funeral home.
