With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Sara Lee Clifford, 86, on November 28, 2024, in Ventura, California, but are thankful she is at peace with our Lord and Savior. Sara Lee was born on April 27, 1938, in Fillmore, California to Wilbur and Mary Britt. She went to Fillmore Union High School and graduated in 1956. She attended Occidental College in 1956-1958.
After meeting Terry Clifford on a blind date, they were married November 12, 1960. Sara worked at the Prudential office in Ventura until the upcoming birth of their daughter Jill in 1963 followed by the birth of Mary in 1965. They lived in Ventura, California until 1972 when they moved to Ojai, California.
Sara was a homemaker. She enjoyed her regular Bible studies, painting and taking art classes at Ventura College, scrapbooking, gardening, reading and helping in her daughters' schools. Sara grew up camping at Carpinteria State Beach where you could see her body surfing in the waves. Later when her daughters were older, she worked at the church office at Ojai Valley Community Church.
Sara is survived by her daughter Jill Gaertner (husband Jeff Gaertner), grandsons Dayne and Kale Eigner and Joshua and Jacob Gaertner and nieces and nephews.
Sara is preceded in death by her husband Terry Clifford, daughter Mary Clifford, parents Wilbur and Mary Britt and brother Bill Britt.
