Sarah Geurink Obituary

Sarah was born June 23, 1992, in Zeeland, to Sherwin and Mary (Kalman) Geurink. Sarah graduated from Hamilton High School and Grand Valley State University. Sarah started her education career as a para-pro in East Kentwood 2016-2018, then Spring Lake in 2018-2019. She taught in the South Haven School District-Baseline Middle School from 2019-2025. Sarah was also a youth group leader at Hope Reformed Church in South Haven. Sarah's students were "her kids".
She is survived by her mother Mary Geurink, her brothers and their families: Scott & Michelle Geurink (Kelsey, Morgan, Riley), David & Emily Geurink (Aubree, Reese, Jolee), many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Sherwin Lee Geurink in 1999, her brother Arlyn Geurink in 1982, and her grandparents: Eli Kalman, Margie Kalman-Gras, Jake Gras, Alvin and Lorene Geurink.
The Geurink family is grateful for the excellent care that Sarah received from the entire care and medical team that assisted Sarah in the last three years.
It is Sarah's wish to have a colorful service. If you plan to attend, please consider wearing purple, her favorite color. Extra credit available for those who do.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, May 5, 2025, at the West Campus of Overisel Reformed Church, 4724 142nd Ave., Holland MI 49423. Visiting hours will be 3:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, May 4, at the Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State Street, Zeeland MI 49464. Interment will be in East Holland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Reformed Church of South Haven-Youth Group.
