Sarah Joan (Zeilinga) Kieninger, 44, of Spiceland passed away on July 23, 2025 at the home of her mother, having lost her battle with cancer. She was born March 26, 1981 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Jerry Zeilinga and Karen (Rinard) Smith.
A 1999 graduate of Knightstown High School, Sarah had formerly worked at Citizens State Bank in Lewisville for several years. She had also been employed at Lincoln Middle School as a teacher’s aide for special needs students. Sarah loved to Kayak and was a member of the Friends of Blue River. She was a very loving individual and was a “mom” to everyone. Above all, she loved caring for her children.
She is survived by her husband of thirteen years, Joshua Kieninger; a son, Jericho, age 7; a daughter, Tallulah, age 4; her mother, Karen (Ron) Smith, Knightstown; sisters, Katie (Jim) Sanders and Sunshine (Tony) Collins, both of Indianapolis; five nieces, two nephews and several cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Condolences and memories of Sarah may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com.
