Sarah Gwinn Mathis, 88, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Upstate Community Hospice in Landrum, South Carolina.
Born in Inman, South Carolina on November 15, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Kate (Brannon) Gwinn and Robert Wade Gwinn and was the wife of the late Lewis Mathis who celebrated 33 years of marriage before his passing.
Mrs. Mathis was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church, and worked many years at Inman Mills as an Inspector.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Sullens and her husband Freddie of Lyman, South Carolina; her son, Steve Mathis and his wife Kim of Inman, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Brandon Mathis and his wife Becca, Haley Blanton and her husband Chad, Ashley Ussery and her husband Will and Allison Sullens along with six great grandchildren, Emerson, Madison, Fletcher, Finley, Adeline and Boone.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also predeceased by two brothers and five sisters.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 PM on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Holly Springs Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM at Holly Springs Baptist Church, with Dr. Tim Clark officiating. Burial will be in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
