Sarah J. Smith, 49 of Lorain, passed away at her home on October 6, 2025 following a hard fought battle with cancer. She had worked for over 20 years at Cracker Barrel, and the family wants to express their appreciation for friends from Cracker Barrel who visited and brought food and other items to Sarah and her family during her struggles. Sarah had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with family, especially her grandkids. She will be greatly missed by them all.
Sarah is survived by her mother, Karen Smith; children, Phillip (Desirae), Gabrielle, and Morgan Smith; grandchildren, Melody, Onyx, and Ermias; and siblings, Jeff (Maureen) Smith, Scot Smith, and Natalie Calamante (Michael). She was preceded in death by her father, J. Richard Smith.
The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 9 at 11:00 am at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 West 15th St., Lorain, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. The family will receive friends at their residence 1157 West 8th St., Lorain on Wednesday, October 8 after 10:00 am, and throughout the day and evening.
