Sarah Wedlake Obituary
Sarah L. Wedlake, age 83 of Enon, passed away on Thursday March 14, 2024 at the Walnut Creek Nursing Center. She was born on July 8, 1940 in St. Clairsville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Noah and Willimena (Shores) Burghy.
Sarah and her husband were the owners of Wright Way Services in Fairborn and she also enjoyed being a nanny for many years with the same family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 2002; ten siblings; and son-in-law, Butch Elder, III. Survivors include four children, Richard (Lauren) Wedlake, Sherry (Dale) Wedlake-Rabideau, Shelby Elder, Shawna (Jason) Dunwiddie; seven grandchildren, Nacole Fleitz, Kiimberly Allgeier, Jessica Wedlake, Loretta Wedlake, Brian Cook, Justin Dunwiddie, Brittany Dunwiddie; nine great-grandchildren; a great great-granddaughter; a sister, Frannie; as well numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family, and many friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday March 22, 2024 at 12:00 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor H. Wesley Barnhill officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until the time of services. Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Greater Dayton Humane Society.
