Scarlett Durden

Miss Scarlett Skye Durden, age 16, of Piedmont, AL, formerly of Carrollton, GA, passed away December 25, 2025. She was born October 18, 2009.
Scarlett was a beautiful light in the lives of all who knew her, leaving behind memories that will be forever cherished. She was the beloved daughter of Marvy and Renee Durden, II. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sisters, Shaylee Durden, of Piedmont and Trinity McCann, of Lagrange, GA; paternal grandfather, Marvy Durden, of Augusta, GA; maternal grandmother, Tracy Callahan, of Valdosta, GA; maternal aunts and uncles, James and Melanie McCann, of Valdosta, Kathryn and Blake Jones, of Steele MO, Mary and Tristan Beck, of Jasper, FL, and Crystal and Trey Kirkland, of Madison, FL; paternal aunts and uncles, Heather and Mark Stich, of Tallapoosa, GA, Gabrielle Durden, Jessican Durden, and Rebecca Durden, all of Swainsboro, GA; as well as numerous cousins whom she loved dearly.
Scarlett was a 10th grade student at Piedmont High School. While attending her former high school, Central High School in Carrollton, GA, she was a proud member of the JROTC program and dreamed of serving in the military after graduation. She carried herself with quiet strength, determination, and a sense of purpose beyond her years.
Known for her incredible kindness, Scarlett had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved. Her gentle heart and compassion left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Scarlett's father named her Scarlett Skye because a scarlet sky is one of the most beautiful sights you could ever see. She truly lived up to that name. Her presence was radiant, her spirit unforgettable, and her love enduring. Though her time on this Earth was far too short, Scarlett Skye Durden's light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be missed beyond words and remembered always.
Funeral services for Scarlett will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 2:00PM in the Miller Funeral Home Dogwood Chapel with Master Sergeant Steven Peters and Mark Stich speaking. Some of Scarlett's dearest friends will also share their favorite stories about her. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 12:00PM.
