Lived in Charlotte, Columbia, Boone and Raleigh
He attended Providence High School, University of South Carolina and Appalachian State University. Sclater Studied molecular and cellular biology in hopes of attending medical school.
Survived by family, friends and all he affected and inspired.
Sclater chose a Green burial and gathering place so that he did not impact the earth but became an integral part of it. He asked that a tree be placed at his site so that he could grow into it and it into him. We are placing the NC state tree "Red Bud" which is indigenous to our area and a fast grower.
A service to celebrate Sclater's life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday December 7th, 2024 at the Forest Chapel of the Kings Mountain Preserve www.kingsmountainpreserve.com 321 Indian Springs Rd. Blacksburg, SC 29702. The family will receive friends following the service at the Pavilion. Guests are asked to arrive by 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Donations in lieu of flowers should go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his name.

Sclater was so kind and genuine. I had the pleasure of learning alongside him for many years. Years I´ll cherish and remember forever, as I will his tender smile. Grateful for the beautiful memories.

I remember Sclater as a very sweet, respectful, curious little boy. To read about his passing is so sad. To Christina and Schlater, III, I am so sorry for the pain and heartache I know you both are experiencing. I pray you know you were great parents to Schlater, IV.
