Scott David Beavers, 59, of Powell, Ohio met Jesus on April 4th, 2024. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife, three daughters, and brother at Riverside Methodist Hospital. There to greet him was his father Robert Beavers, mother Charlotte Joanne (Cook) Beavers, stepmothers Jeanne (Wilson) Beavers and Grace Ann (Langermann) Beavers, close friend Jeff Rickens, and many family pets. He is survived by his wife Julie (Worst) Beavers, daughters Hannah (Stephen), Sarah, and Emma Beavers, brothers Bart (Ingrid) Beavers, Keith Beavers, Lou (Karen) Langermann, John Langermann, and his sisters Sue (John) Marcinkowski and Cathy (Brian) Szymanski, in-laws Jerry and Esther, Todd and Mindy, Andy and Becky, and Travis and Holly Worst, as well as his cherished nieces Jennifer (Davin), Stephanie, Brooke (Paul), Joanna (Derek), Dana (Dylan), Madison, Addie, Avery, Allison, Fiona, Myra, and Amelia, and nephews Sam, Eli, Jered, Isaac, and Sebastian and his never-ending list of friends.
Scott was the third son born to Robert Beavers and Charlotte Joanne Beavers on August 21st, 1964 in Toledo, Ohio. He was a proud DeVilbiss Tiger and graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1983. Scott had a passion for teaching and received his Bachelor's degree in Education from Bluffton College in 1991. While at Bluffton, he was a member of the football team and was crowned homecoming king. Scott loved Bluffton, and its people, often referring to the town as Bluff-topia. Scott chose to further his education by attending Mercy College of Northwest Ohio where he received his Associate Degree in Nursing. Nursing afforded him the ability to work in many areas, the last of which was home care. He was able to utilize his love of education and his nursing skills to provide care for many people of different backgrounds.
Scott married the love of his life and the mother of his children, Julie Elizabeth (Worst) Beavers, on April 12th, 1997. He and Julie met at his first nursing job at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. Scott and Julie decided to move to Columbus, where they settled down and had their three wonderful daughters: Hannah, Sarah, and Emma Beavers. Scott's girls were his pride and joy. He often remarked on their intelligence and how he was glad that they had their mother's hair and not his. Hannah, Sarah, and Emma had their daddy wrapped around their fingers from the time they were born until the very end. He was the perfect girl-dad, even taking them to multiple One Direction concerts. Scott was a common sight on the pool deck, cheering for his girls at many swim meets. He often told new fathers, "remember that these are YOUR children, you do not babysit your own children."
Scott has always been a devout Christian. As a child, Scott was a member of the Methodist church. After marrying Julie, they chose to attend and raise the girls in the Lutheran Church. They have been attending the Upper Arlington Lutheran Church since 1998, where Scott enjoyed the music and message of the modern service. Following his illness, his faith became more prominent in his life. Throughout his life, Scott has made many dear friends with his light-hearted spirit and wit. From the hairdresser to the pharmacy, Scott could and did make friends wherever he went. When you think of the name "Scott Beavers," there is without a doubt a hilarious story that comes with it. Throughout the years, Scott always remembered his jokes with his friends and family, telling them over and over, never failing to get a laugh out of all those around him. Scott was put on this earth to serve and bring joy to all he encountered, and we know that he was successful in this mission. Scott's passing has left a hole in the hearts of his friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to an educational fund for Scott's daughters. You can send money through Zelle ((614)-800-7747) or by check written out to Julie or Hannah Beavers. Checks can be sent to the funeral home, Beavers' residence or dropped off during the service. Please put "education fund" in the memo of the donation so they are routed to the education fund set up for the girls. Friends are invited to join the family for visitation on Saturday, April 13th, 2024 from 1 PM to 4 PM with the Funeral Service being held at 4PM. At his visitation, there will be a memory book where people are more than welcome to bring their favorite photo with Scott or simply write a favorite memory. There will also be time in the service to share a few words or a story about Scott. His services will be held at Rutherford Funeral Home, 450 West Olentangy St., Powell, OH 43065

What a beautiful soul!! Knowing Scott through out our elementary/high school years was quite a gift. Always a smile and joyful laughter surrounding him.
Julie, you spoke of the wonderful "girl dad" Scott was, and it truly showed in how proud he was of all their accomplishments in life...thanks to FB updates.
Life tends to send us all in different directions through life but, being called back to our younger years, and the friendships that formed is a wonderful gift.
Julie. May you, the girls, family & friends love on Scott's memories, with as much laughter as he gave us all.

I was fortunate to meet Scott in 2006, when we had the opportunity to work together. My prayers and thoughts to his family

Scotty, as everyone called him in High school, was a "gentle giant". He had a genuine personality that made everyone feel comfortable whether he was talking with them or making us laugh. Scott´s hugs "enveloped" you and made you feel better.

A few years ago, Scotty had offered that he could ask one of his daughters to come up to Toledo and give my daughter a few swimming tips on her butterfly, sadly it didn´t work out. More recently he reached out to me when he found out my daughter was attending OSU. He offered his help in any emergency, if we needed it , because he lived closer to her than we would be. He was an amazing man, friend to many and loved by all. He left a mark on this world that will be missed.
Hugs and prayers to family.
