GARDINER- It is with heavy hearts and much love that we honor the life of Scott Wilfred Dawson, better known to his friends and family as Buzz. Born on November 5,1955 in Augusta Maine, Buzz was a man who lived his life on his terms with a very carefree demeanor.
Scott was a man whose quick wit, keen sense of humor and ability to bring laughter to any situation was one of his most endearing qualities. Whether he was tossing horseshoes, playing a fierce game of cribbage, tinkering with cars, or simply enjoying a cold one, Buzz was always the life of the party. His love for friends and family was evident in every aspect of his life. Scott held many titles throughout his life but the one he valued the most was grandfather.
Scott is survived by daughter Jessica and husband David Farnham, grandchildren Madison, Jake and Dillon Farnham of Pittston, Taylor Dawson and fiancé Chris Longley and great grandson Rhett Longley of Sidney, siblings Robin Plourde, Dale, Dean and Beth Dawson. Scott was preceded in death by his parents Joyce and Bucky Dawson, two brothers Lee and Mark Dawson and son John Scott Dawson.
Buzz's Military Committal Service will take place on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Maine Veterans' Cemetery- Chapel at 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta, Maine. Following the committal service, there will be a gathering at the American Legion Post #2, 294 Capitol Street Extension, Augusta, Maine. Buzz served his country with the same dedication and humor he brought to every aspect of his life.
As we remember Buzz, we encourage you to share your favorite memories and photos of him on his memorial page at www.staplesfuneralhome.com Let's celebrate his life by remembering the laughter, the love and the loyalty that made Scott 'Buzz' Dawson the remarkable man that he was.
Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
