Scott Greene

Samuel Scott Greene, 67, passed away on February 3, 2026.

Known to all as "Scott," he was a well-known native of Greer, South Carolina. Born to the late William Leaster and Sammie Lee Phillips Greene, Scott was a 1976 graduate of Greer High School and a 1980 graduate of his beloved Clemson University. After decades of outstanding service, Scott retired from a career in banking, including at BB&T, where he was a friendly face and source of information for every customer.

Never one to be idle, following his retirement, Scott became a part-time shuttle driver for Clemson University. Clemson was always a central passion for Scott, who strove to attend every game possible, both at home and on the road. No Clemson game would be complete without Scott proudly cheering in the stands.

Scott was active in his community and was always a source of assistance to those in need. He was a member of Victor Baptist Church, Greer Lions Club, IPTAY (where he was a top-tier representative of 44 years), and the Greenville Clemson Club. He found quiet enjoyment in travel, working in his yard, and golfing. He reveled less quietly and calmly with every dog he met, and he will forever be an honorary pack member to all of them.

Scott is survived by his wife, Carla Aguirre Greene; two stepdaughters, Karla Von (Stephen) and Graciela Williams (Matthew) of Shelby; two granddaughters, Sophia Von and Louna Williams; and multiple grand-puppies. All loved him deeply and will always feel his absence. Scott is also survived by sister-in-law, Donna Greene and nephew, Marcus Greene.

He was predeceased by his brother, William Jeffrey "Jeff" Greene.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Ken Vickery, with internment to follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held 1:00-1:45 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026, at The Wood Mortuary.
