Scott Hancock

GREENFIELD – Charles Scott Hancock, known to most as Scott, age 59, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023 at his home. He was born in Greenfield on May 8, 1964 to Charles Steven "Steve" Hancock and Ellie Louise (Yates) Hancock. He was a 1982 graduate from Mt. Vernon High School. On October 14, 2003, Scott married Jill Lesley (Blaker) in Hawesville, Kentucky.
He was the owner and truck driver of Hancock Bros Inc. in Greenfield, which he and his brother started in 1994. Scott was a jack-of-all-trades and loved farming. He had a green thumb and a special knack for growing things. He was a former board member for Hancock County 4-H. Scott enjoyed hunting, farming, working with his hands and being a business owner. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He put his family above everything.
Scott is survived by his loving family including, mother, Ellie Hancock; wife, Jill Hancock; children, Aubrey Scutchfield, Charles Clayton Hancock (Chelsea) and Jessica Mitchell (Kevin); stepchildren, Morgan Hunt and Patrick Hunt; grandchildren, Charles Cale, Hensley, Ellie, Charlie, Adrianna, Kaylee and Solomon; and sister, Nicole Bonfiglio. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Steven Hancock; sister, Michelle Hancock; and brother, Craig Hancock.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at the mortuary on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Doug Hardy will be officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Church Cemetery in Greenfield.
