Scott D. Mahoney, age 74, of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully at home on January 22, 2025. Born on March 19, 1950, in Manchester, NH, he was the son of William D. Mahoney and Jane Mahoney.

Scott was the loving husband of Joanne R. Mahoney, who was the love of his life. Their bond was unbreakable, and he stood by her side through every step of her health journey until her passing. Now, reunited with Joanne in heaven, Scott’s love and devotion to her will never be forgotten.

Scott was predeceased by his parents, William and Jane Mahoney; his beloved wife, Joanne R. Mahoney; his sister, Sherry Mitchell of Brooklyn, NY; and his cherished cat, Ho Sing Ling.

He is survived by his stepson Geoffrey Hudson of Manchester, NH, and his grandchildren, Jack and Abigail Hudson, who brought him great joy. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

A proud veteran, Scott served in the United States Coast Guard, an experience that shaped his strong sense of duty and service. He went on to attend Bentley University and became a successful accountant, known for his intelligence, generosity, and commitment to excellence.

Scott had a deep love for life and cherished simple pleasures, including Notre Dame football, drives to Maine, watching the Boston Celtics, and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. His love for coffee, decorating for Christmas, and making others feel special will be remembered by all who knew him.

Scott will always be remembered as a compassionate, selfless, and thoughtful man who made a lasting impact on his family and friends. His legacy of love, loyalty, and devotion will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.

At this time, no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the VNA of Manchester and Southern NH.
