Our much beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Scott Spencer McLelland was welcomed back to his heavenly home on Saturday, October 22, 2022. Scott's passing was the result of a tragic accident.
Scott was born on February 16, 1997 in American Fork, Utah. He was raised in Provo, Utah and spent many happy summer days at Swan Lake, Montana. Scott attended Canyon Crest and Grovecrest elementary schools, Pleasant Grove Jr. High, and graduated in 2015 from Pleasant Grove High School where he played saxophone and football and excelled as a ceramic artist.
Scott has been employed in several different professions and has worked at Snowbird Ski Resort for the past five seasons, where he performed many different functions and made many cherished friends. He loved being able to work in the majestic Wasatch mountains that he loved so much. Scott was an avid and excellent skier and spent many hours moving at high speed down the slopes. He loved spending time with family and friends and had an especially close relationship with his four siblings.
Scott was deeply loved by all who knew him well. He was a very special, unique, talented, kind friend to all, with a great sense of humor and a deep loyalty to friends and loved ones, all of whom will greatly miss his fun and welcome presence.
Scott is survived by his parents, Carl and BetteJo McLelland, Provo, Utah, siblings Kate (Michael) Durtschi, Tooele, Utah, Jack (Casia) McLelland, Clearfield, Utah, Melissa (Jordan) Gray, Pleasant Grove, Utah, and Kevin (Kari Larsen) McLelland, Bluffdale and Highland, Utah.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Nelson Family Mortuary, 4780 North University Ave., Provo, Utah, with visitation at 9:00 a.m. and funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Hills Cemetery, 4800 N. 650 East, Provo, Utah.
The family expresses deep gratitude for all the kind, loving thoughts and acts of service that have been offered by so many friends and family since Scott's passing.
Scott once said, "You can always find me in the mountains." We'll look for you there, until we meet again our precious Scotty boy.
