Scott Von Mitchell was born on November 7, 1975, and passed from this life on September 29, 2025.
Scott lived life out loud, through his love for others, his unshakable faith in God, and yes, even through his music. His laugh was contagious, his humor quick and clever, and he always had a meme ready to brighten someone's day. Bringing joy to others was second nature to him.
A true lover of Hip Hop, Scott was all about the rhythm, the rhyme, and the volume. Whether driving to the gym or just cruising solo, his car was always bumping. His wild driving and booming bass were just part of the high-energy presence he brought everywhere he went.
During football season, Scott was a proud Oklahoma Sooners fan, rarely missing a game. He also followed the Philadelphia Eagles closely, but nothing brought him more joy than cheering from the stands at his son's baseball games.
Scott's quick wit and love of comedy were inspired by some of his favorite shows, including The Simpsons, South Park, American Dad, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and Rick and Morty. He loved a good laugh and was always ready to share one.
Known for his signature checkered Vans and a "YOLO" attitude, Scott embraced life with both arms open. He was always up for something new and exciting, and he had a knack for turning those adventures into unforgettable stories.
At the center of Scott's life were his faith, his family, and his love for people and animals. He made sure those around him always knew how deeply they were loved and how much they mattered. He lived with a grateful heart, rooted in the unwavering love of his Lord and Savior.
Scott carried that same love and gratitude into his relationships, especially with those in recovery. He saw it as his calling to check in on friends and acquaintances walking the path of sobriety; to encourage them, offer accountability, listen without judgment, and remind them of the freedom they were moving toward.
Above all, Scott wanted them to know they were never alone. He refused to give up on anyone, just as his Lord never gave up on him.
Holidays were Scott's favorite time to celebrate, because they were loud, fun, and always centered around great food. Whether it was the explosive excitement of the 4th of July (complete with roman candle wars and snack spreads that lasted all day), or the cozy indulgence of Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, Scott was all in for every moment.
Scott's huge heart, outrageous memes, and generous spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
He is survived by his children, Alyssa, Nolan, Emily, and Olivia Mitchell; his parents, Pamela Earnest and her husband, Mark, and Lyndell Mitchell and his wife, Janie; his sister, Jennifer Dancer, and her husband, Michael; and his nieces, Brittany Pendelton and her husband, Ethan, as well as Madison and Hallie Dancer. He is also survived by his great-nieces, Reid and Renlee, and many other family members and friends.
Scott will be especially missed by his cocker spaniel, Hugo, and his cat, Jeff.
