Scott Eldon Orcutt, 58, of Ogallala, passed away on January 27, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska.
Scott was born in Fountain, Colorado, on October 17, 1966, to Harold Earl Orcutt and Elva May (Geising) Orcutt. He graduated from Fountain-Fort Carson High School with the Class of 1985.
Scott worked in retail for over 30 years and was very dedicated to his craft. He managed Duckwall-Alco stores for several years, first in Kansas and Colorado, before taking over the Cambridge store in 1998, which later became the Cambridge General Store. On February 23, 2007, Scott married Denise Scott in Meade, KS. Eventually, Scott and Denise relocated to Ogallala in 2014, where he managed the Bomgaars store, quickly becoming a mainstay in the community for his friendly and personable nature. Known for his strong work ethic, Scott ran a tight ship, was always firm but fair, and seemed to get the best out of the people around him.
Scott was also active in planning and zoning boards and contributed to the community wherever he was. Beyond work, Scott loved music, playing guitar and drums in several bands and at church throughout the years. He was an excellent bowler and thoroughly enjoyed participating in league over the years. Scott loved the mountains, fishing, watching stock car races, and cheering for his favorite sports teams, the Broncos, Buffaloes, Rockies, and Avalanche.
A man of faith and integrity, Scott brought joy to those around him and lived a life of service to his family and community.
