Publish in a newspaper

Scott D. Pitters, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the age of 72-just three days shy of his birthday on August 15, 1952. A longtime resident of Mount Clemens, Michigan, Scott was one of three children born to the late Donald and Eleanor (Wagner) Pitters. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he was honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant. On September 17, 1977, Scott married the love of his life, Karen A. Raymond. Together, they shared 47 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and family. Scott was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton Township, where he once served on the board of trustees. Professionally, he worked as a welding engineer in the automotive industry, and even after retirement, his engineering mindset never waned. He lived by the motto: "If you can dream it, you can build it." Whether offering advice over the phone or tinkering in the garage, Scott was always ready to help solve a problem or lend a hand with a hands-on project. Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, Scott brought joy to everyone around him. He found happiness in off-road Jeep adventures, tent in the back and the open road ahead. Memories were made at the family cottage in National City, Michigan-boating on the Baja or pontoon, water skiing, and spending time with family and friends. Scott's presence in the lives of his grandchildren was a gift. From Sunday dinners and watching YouTube videos to decorating cookies at Christmastime, he created traditions that will live on in their hearts. His patience, warmth, and unwavering love for his family defined him. His legacy of kindness, ingenuity, and devotion will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. He is survived by wife Karen, children Matthew (Lindsay) Pitters and Becky (William) Hall. He was the proud grandfather of Lyric, Rosie, Will, Lucy and Ruby. Brother Barry (Marlene) Pitters, nephews Bryce and Brett Pitters, Donald Williams and niece Shanie Williams also survives. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Gail LaFleur. Memorial visitation will take place on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main, Mount Clemens, Michigan. On Saturday, August 16, 2025, memorial services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 38900 Harper, Clinton Township, Michigan at 11:00 am (friends welcome at 10:00 am) followed by military honors. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan. Share memories and sign the online guest book at www.vickfuneralhome.com .
